Guys – Gals

21 10 2008

I’m gonna scribble about the relation (friend-ship) between guys and gals at first. In my early years or even before I was born , I noticed that there was good relation between the two. Let me quote an example how worse it has been degrading , keeping it in the view of the people who are looking at it.

It was in my 9th class and “Rakhi Day”. So , as usual the legacy of tying “Raksha Bandhan” was going on in the class. All of a sudden , we all heard a call from principal saying “boys, whoever got a rakhi on their hand come and report downstairs in the principal cabin”. One after another went in with anxiety (might be expecting an Ice cream or a Cadbury Dairy Milk) and came out with a crying face. They were back to the class room. I asked my friends , what was the reason for your sad/crying faces. He said that , our mighty principal thought that we were stalking (“sight kottadam”) and that’s the reason we had a “rakhi” on our hand !!, May be due to the effect of the new century !!.

So, coming to the effect of the new century , most of the gals/guys aren’t looking for a good friend but for a bf/gf (that too on USE and THROW prototype or TIME PASS protocol :) ). Finally, we are on the track of modernity which we all wanted to inhere from the western culture. Modernity in dressing, doing things and all except for good feelings (btw, the westerners are also good at it too and we, very few think of it!! , anyways I don’t dwell much into it). There are movies coming out displaying how well a guy and a gal could be friends , yet again lacking practical depiction. May be both of them lack the move or waiting for the other to make it.

Well, let us talk about the prototype and protocol that was mentioned earlier. Something similar to a film story (design oriented :D ).

Pain – It has no name

4 09 2008

This is in continuation with the post “My Love for My Love” and in some sense related with “Believe it or not” too !!. So just go through the former one with patience if you haven’t [:)].

You rule every move I make
I know that you can’t read my mind
Yet you know that you are the one …

Ask me what is the problem
I don’t know what the problem is
Well if it is, it’s love , love and love
I can’t stop thinking about it

Do I ever cross your mind
Do you ever wake up reaching out for me
For me it’s happening
I can’t stop thinking about you

I’ve been passing time doing everything
But it’s nothing but acting
I’m forced to fake a smile
It’s egregious wishing and telling

The damn thing is hurting
I’ve been hanging up messing
I feel like slipping away everything

I might find someone else (as you wish to hook me up)
But there is a common problem with all of them
They are not you , my love !!

It’s funny to be pedantic
When love is truly right
And if it is, it never goes off … (my love !!)

This is our 21st century : our communication – wireless ; our telephone – cordless ; our youth – jobless ; our food – fatless ; our relation – loveless ; our attitude – careless ; our feelings – heartless ; our politics – shameless ; and finally , our follies – countless !! .

AIM – accomplish introvert’s mission

26 08 2008

I just tried to define it something differently, spare me for any controversies :) . But I would like to see others definitions too. Coming to the topic most of us have at least one , the so called “AIM” !!. Some people have their aims being smitten by the society and others out of their own interest. Well I’m the one who does not have any aim, may be I should say that my aim was broken. I did not ever dream that it would happen (After all, “hope” is my aim now, believing myself having faith in fate :) !!) , right now I don’t know what I’m doing and what am I doing for. I’m just going with time. Any ways the most common things that people have in mind in their engineering life is to go for MBA/MS/JOB. Well it all depends on whether one would like to have an austere life or not. People do talk in terms of money they fetch looking forward for a luxurious life. Ultimately it’s useless to have it in excess.

There are people who strive for success (we come across those personalities once in a while in news papers which says that a boy/girl out of his/her own hard work has gone this far to a prestigious position without any support and blah , blah , blah …). All this thing is to make a point that the moment our parents go through such astonishing profiles our day starts as follows.

On one fine day , early in the morning (news paper reaches our home by 6,6:30 AM).

Dad: Heyy idiot wake up.
Child : God damn !! what so special about waking me up early in the morning.
Dad : C’mon read about this article.
Child : Inner voice says “There should be something which shouldn’t happen”.

while reading itself, we anticipate the next scenario.

Child: We don’t say anything apart from keeping the paper aside indicating that we finished reading it.
Dad : Have you gone through it ??.
Child : Yes dad (in a low voice !!).
Dad : Did you ever at least study for your exams with dedication and look at this fellow how determined he/she is !!.
Child : Inner voice says “Ohh god , why all these people study like hell and get onto papers for publicity and all”.
Dad : What are you peering at with a dumb face ??.
Child : I’m just visualizing the moment when your father , reading such articles , asks you the same (laughing !!).
Dad : You can’t do anything except that , Stupid, Idiot …

Suddenly mom enters into the scenario saying “Ohh, stop it. Go and get ready , if not , you are going to miss your bus for the school”.

Child : Walking away as soon as he/she hears mom saying it and in inner voice , “Ahh, mom you saved me from all this. So nice of you !!”.
Dad : (to mom) You come amidst whenever I have a talk with him/her regarding this (child hears this from the bathroom !! and again laughs !!).

Thus, the hot atmosphere ends.

Most of us think of turning out into an IAS/IPS officer in our child hood. So I would like to know if anyone among us is after it right now (I’m not).

PS : I’m vexed , couldn’t find a way to get out of it !!.

Believe it or not !!

10 05 2008

I have come across some things while browsing and felt like writing a post putting them.

BOYS are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The girls don’t want to reach for the good ones because they’re afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead they just get the rotten apples that are on the ground, that aren’t as good, but easy to get. So the apples at the top think that there is something wrong with them, when in reality, they are amazing. That is why we just have to be a little patient find the right girl. The one who takes a chance to find the good, right apple, will come someday…

I think the above thing will be same for GIRLS too. So, what I would like to say is that “True love does not come by finding the perfect person but by understanding the person perfectly”.
Here, by love I mean with anyone/anything , your friends/parents/lover/things.

Here is one more thing that I came across:

This is a small story to set life’s priorities right…

A professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with an unanimous “yes.”

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

“The golf balls are the important things – your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

“The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.

“The sand is everything else–the small stuff.

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

“The same goes for life. “If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you and for those who care for you and finally you will end up losing them.

“Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter.

Then one of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked.

“It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a cup of coffee with a friend (who is a golf ball !!).

Oh my friend !!

10 03 2008

One of my close friends said “dude !! don’t be too good to everyone , It will hurt you someday”. It might be true (it is !!). Does one think in a way that one being close/good etc, means that he is dumb (a strong NO!!). But one will be so not to make issues (quite simple) so complex because it doesn’t even make sense that every time when someone says something different , then the other one should raise words against him/her. I also find one more thing around , it will be fine for one to make fun of other in any way but when that other one makes fun of this “one” they immediately get annoyed. Why do that happen always ??, If the other person is your friend, don’t he/she have a right to make fun of you sometimes as you make fun of them. Is it that only you should make and the other one should stay calm. So, set aside your so called “ego” with your friends because of which a lot of communication gap arises.

Some issues come up when people talk whatever they think. One can talk anything with their close friends as they know about you and can understand you, but w.r.t. others at least, its very important that you think before you talk (not always!!) because you have no right to hurt the person in front of you with your words. The society is not bothered about how you will be, I mean the way you are (one might talk straight [frankly], some others conserved , some others too much freely etc… ) , its so sensible that when you are living in a society one should live accordingly and has no right to speak/do whatever one wants. Some think of it but they view it in a different way , like , when one is talking he/she thinks that they can be in whatever way they like , but when coming to the person in front of them , they expect them to talk/behave according to the surroundings (“them” to be more particular). The same thing applies for others but not for you!! , How funny it is to think so.

One thing that bothers me is “Does one think of a friend as just a means of time pass (if it is so the one will be in serious trouble someday)”. It also happens so that people just think of friends as possession (I mean for the things getting done or something else). Friends are the best means with whom you can hang out and ask them things you need but it is not the only purpose if you think so. Think of a situation everyone around you avoiding you because of your behaviour etc… Its so obvious that you feel bad and get hurt because you feel that “there should be at least one around me who talks to me irrespective of my behaviour!!” and then you will find a true friend who tells you the things. Its again up to you to think about them and realize. It is foolishness to step into the same track again.

Friends are important to choose and one should be careful enough before calling one your friend because some people can be smart enough that they act through out the time with you. Hence one should not be carried away with their outer nature. A good friend stabs you in front saying the mistakes you do. Some people even say “your character can be decided by looking at your friends” (of course I don’t comment on this [:)]).

Daddy cool

24 02 2008

This is about a happiest moment that I had experienced during the exams time and its because of my dearest friend’s arrival i.e. my dad. The moment when he first saw me I was on a bike. I picked him up near the gate and came to the hostel. In the meantime, my friends managed to make my room look better than it usually is because of the mess all over. Here comes “My father” , Samrat who happened to be the first to see him among the people out there, greets him with a “hello uncle !!! baagunnaraa ??”. Then “Kranthi” comes into the picture , well my father used to talk to him on phone but he never knew him by face , he always used to ask about his meeting with kranthi and I guess that that day has come. They both were talking to my dad. Meanwhile I had to go and wake up the people around (charan , girish , ambati etc..). No sooner he saw these guys he wished them “Good Morning” (They just woke up, it was 6:00 PM guys !!). Charan and Girish entered the room and started talking to my dad and asked him for a treat and it was then that he asked “am I disturbing you people in exams time??” , suddenly we all looked at each other faces and laughed loudly thinking that “these parents think that we study for the exams rigorously … poor people !!”. My dad is smart enough to guess it .Anyways he knows all these as he had gone through these days and also I tell him everything (everything !!).

The conversation was going on funnily and in the mean time I was introducing all of my friends in GHEB first floor to him. Here comes “Vijay Bharat” with a Nagarjuna “Hii !!” like the one in the Super movie !! , Thats a moment that you just can’t afford to miss. With Charan saying “aakalii !!” (thats what he generally does) we all went to the coffee shop. Then he asked about some of my other friends , Harshita , Namrata , Navatha etc.. , He met them before he left (he had been here around just for two hours hmmm !!).When he was talking to them , harshi started saying “Uncle I did that just to make fun of him and book him”, because of some funny things that happened on phone between her and my dad ,then he replied “I take them lightly !! don’t worry” (that was his regular style … but that happened to be a blast for her), After spending sometime with them the time for departure has come.

I wondered why was it that he had to leave so early.

I miss my home !!!.

Songs of the week : Savage Garden – Truly Madly Deeply.
Drew Barrymore – Way back into love.

Movies of the week : Ontari – It sucks.
Happy Days !!.

PS : I’m not sure of the title and help me out with this (a post after a long time).

Rahul Dravid – The Wall

24 07 2007

His full name – Rahul Sharad Dravid. With a strong technique he has been the backbone for the Indian cricket team. Beginning with the reputation of being a defensive player who should be confined to test cricket, he was droppped from ODIs as he was slow in making runs. Of late , however , Rahul Dravid has defied early perceptions to become the mainstay of the Indian batting line-up in the ODIs as well as in Tests. His nick name “The Wall” has now become the tribute for his consistency. With his technical batting proficiency and stylish strokes he has been one of the main pillars of Indian batting.

Dravid’s amazing run was no triumph of substance over style, though , for he has plenty of both. A classical strokeplayer who plays every shot in the book. He often outscores teammates like Tendulkar in the course of partnerships with them, and while his pulling and cover-driving is especially breathtaking. He is one of the few Indians who average more at aw
ay mathces than at home.He is one among the only three batsmen to hit Test centuries in four consecutive innings.

He was involved in two of the largest partnerships in ODIs with Sourav Ganguly and with Sachin Tendulkar and the only batsman to have been involved in two ODI partnerships exceeding 300 runs.He has the record of the Highest score by a wicketkeeper in a world cup. He was named one of the Wisden cricketers (Wisden group a british media company and is the main publisher of cricket in U.K) for the 1999 World Cup with two hundreds and highest aggregate. He was awarded the innaugural Player of the year award and the Test player of the year by the ICC. He is the first captain to lead India to a Test match victory against South Africa on South African soil.
Hmmmm it goes on as I keep on saying on Dravid (I am a big fan of him :D )….. lets wish him and his teammates good success in England tour :)

PS0 : No cricticism on Dravid plzzz ……. of course you can boast him up :D .

PS1: Bhanu heres the post ….  :)

Google- Cafetaria

30 04 2007

Google is now a brand name. Named after the mathematical word gogool (meaning ten raised to the power hundred or simply, hundred zeros after one), it has emerged as a leader in cyber life in almost no time. Here I would like to put forward somethig interesting about it and its culture.
Have you ever wondered how many members work in its headquarters at the Amphitheater Parkway? Not hundred, not five hundred. It’s lierally four thousand! And have you ever wondered how do they work in such a cumbersome atmosphere. Won’t you wonder if I say that the most influencial thing is the “Cafeteria” of Google which keeps them all together!!!
Yes, it is the “Cafeteria”. It is said to be a place which keeps the members ‘in’ the office, working for hours. This place contains many types of food for various cusines like Italian, Chinese, African, Indian(!), etc. and the menu itself is said to be mouth-watering. A review of those menu items indicates that the tastes of Google’s employees are as diverse as their national and ethnic backgrounds.

It includes scrumptious-sounding dishes such as Ahi Tuna & Avocado Poke, Eggplant Ratatouille, Pollo en Huerto, Seared Day Boat Scallops in Green Coconut Curry Sauce, Arugula with Dried Apricots, Sauteed Wild Mushrooms, Spinach Lentil Dal and Tropical Shrimp Bisque soups, Hazelnut Shortcakes with Plum Compote, Chocolate Coconut Cheesecake and Creamy Lemon Macadamia Nut Cookies. Not exactly your typical corporate cafeteria fare!

All these items are for “FREE”

The company is known for employing some of the best and the brightest people in the world and its menu offers no less of a global all-star lineup.
Providing good food in a corporate setting is not unusual. The executive dining room has been a fixture in many companies throughout this country for decades. What Google is doing is simply providing all its workers with the same top quality cuisine that other companies lavish on their top executives. If it’s good for the top brass why not do it for the rest of the company?

Other tips (to keep its employees ‘healthy’) offered include avoiding exposure to brain-cell killing lead (Google is a lead-free work environment), wiggling your toes frequently to activate nerves that stimulate the brain (sandals are de rigueur fashion at Google Labs), taking short naps to enhance the information processing capacity of the brain (Google Labs’ engineers can take cat naps whenever necessary as long as they “refrain from drooling on their keyboards”), exercising to increase blood flow to the brain (Google’s campus offers a weekly “Wetlands Walk” among other exercise opportunities) and sharing your big brain with the world (Google Labs allows staff to spend 20% of their time working on projects of their own).
